Fishing
Why not go fishing while taking a canoe trip down Blue River? Our family and customers have told us that they always have a great time while fishing in Blue River.
What fish do they catch? Well Blue River is noted for having Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, Rock Bass, Bluegill, and more.

While canoeing keep a keen eye out for the North American river otter. They can be found anywhere there is a permanent food supply and easy access to water.
They can be sensitive to pollution and may disappear from areas where there is polluted waters.
These otters build dens in the burrows of other mammals, in natural hollows, such as under a log, or in river banks.

White-tailed Deer
At times when looking along the river bank, you are likely to see a white-tailed deer. Some can be found drinking in the river and others might be found on the banks.

You are most likely to see a Blue Heron while on your trip. Keep a look-out in the sky, on the river banks, and in the river, and you might see one.
They are amazing hunters. The use their keen eyes to spot a fish swimming nearby. When they are sure they will be able to seize their prey, they will slowly lurk towards it and jab at it. When they seize their prey they will fly off through the trees to their nest.

Turtles
Whenever you pass a log in the river, you might want to look along the top of the log. Why? Most turtles on the river will likely be sitting on the top of logs. Some can be found swimming around the logs. But watch out! There can also be snapping turtles!
